I watched 4 episodes straight before coming to a conclusion. If you read all of what I wrote, it implied stuff that are not shown in first episode.

Translations are seriously poor quality, Chinese culture assumes you already know this genre of donghua so there really isnt any "filling in". Clearly not made for non-Chinese speaking audiences. I find this quite typical -- the mix of feudalism + tech as magic, its definitely different to say the least. Not unlike "harry potter with chinese characteristics."

It's not just Chinese culture, any story, you transitions and info that explains where he is and how he gets there... There is none.

Sooo MC is a Taoist that uses gadgets and tech to his advantage, should be interesting to see how he develop in progression. Also what a coincidence that dude who vanished just so happen to be his doppel-ganger lol. However how he going explain his power output towards other buddy cultivation power.
